Rainy Days?? Has it been rainy????
April
In April, the kids did many projects focussing on Dinosaurs, Fossils & the Earth! We read books and sang songs about dinosaurs & dino bones; the kids designed more dino bones with drawing and gluing of popsickle sticks & toothpicks. We had many "excavations" of driftwood and rock fossil formations in the sandbox, and the kids played in our miniature Dinosaur Pebble Garden, as well as in our larger Dinosaur World! They made paper-mache jumbo-sized Dinosaur eggs for dramatic play and repaired and revived our large paper-mache "rolling" Stegosaurus. The kids counted dinos in Spanish and English, learned "A Giant Dinosaur Poem; " watercolored a Stegosaurus; and made a paper dino & a dino egg to go with their dinosaur dictation stories. The kids also made T Rex and Pterodactyl puppets; water-color Earths; many creatures to live on our spinning magnetic Earth; dino sponge painting; string dinos; dinosaur stamps & multi-media dino creations!
Ask your kids about the book, Bones, Bones, Dinosaur Bones, and take a look...
at a few "prehistoric bones" (made from driftwood & rocks) the kids dug up in the sandbox, redesigned, reburied, & dug up again & again.....
